Alfred Fairfax Academy is a forward-thinking, non-traditional school of choice, grounded in restorative practices. Our students thrive in a small-school environment with reduced class sizes, where personalized learning meets social-emotional growth. At Alfred Fairfax, we take a whole-student approach—blending rigorous academics with support for emotional and social development. Families and students in KCKPS who are ready to actively engage in our vibrant school community don’t just work toward high school graduation—they have the opportunity to earn a Diploma+ Endorsement, setting the stage for future success.

Qualities of Ideal AFA Candidates

  • Those who are open to making a positive shift.
  • Those who are committed to earning their diploma.
  • Students who have struggled academically or socially in a traditional school setting:
    • Have completed 3 or fewer credits after their first year of high school;
    • Have completed 4-9 credits after their second year of high school;
    • Have completed 12 to 17 credits after their third year of high school.
